Pablo Sevilla is an artist originally from Mexico. His designs are inspired by the color, texture, and form of the different natural stones he uses.
As a professional educator at Trumbull High School in Connecticut, Pablo enjoys his summers working on new designs as well as looking for different stones from around the world.
The stones he uses in his pieces are hand picked and never bought in bulk. From the most common stones like turquoise to the hardest to find like fossilized dinosaur bone, he always selects stones that are unique and will work with his original style. Many of his designs feature drusy stones.
Pablo enjoys traveling and meeting interesting people who have the same passion for jewelry and nature. His biggest pleasure from working with jewelry is when a design of beautiful uniqueness brings happiness to his customers.
Art has always been a part of Pablo’s life. He has a degree in Culinary Arts from New York Institute of Technology as well as a Masters degree in Spanish Literature.
When ground water carrying dissolved silica is forced into a porous area of the rock, rapid cooling often occurs, causing the formation of tiny crystals on the surfaces or in cavities of the rock. The clear crystals often form on top of previously deposited minerals. This is called a drusy. Some minerals found in this form are chrysocolla, malachite, hematite, psilomelane, uvarovite, pyrite, carnelian, and cobalto-calcite.
